Q: Why a new scoring system?

In the world of GME, it's essential to look beyond the interview or test scores of an applicant to assess competencies comprehensively. Thalamus Holistic Review covers the entire recruitment cycle, from the initial application review to interviews and ranking, all with the goal of making sure you get the full picture of your applicants.

Diverse Question Types for Comprehensive Assessment

Thalamus Holistic Review supports various question formats, offering a variety of assessment tools. Range scores, custom dropdown lists, Likert ratings, level scales, and Y/N options all give you the flexibility to tailor your evaluation to your program’s needs. You can add notes and mark questions as "unable to assess," giving you the ultimate control over the assessment process. The Question Tooltip supports an in-context rubric.

Q: Will the original Thalamus Scoring still be available?

The original scoring will only be available for viewing in Archive mode for past seasons. 

Q: What happens to my archived scoring after migrating to Thalamus Holistic Review?

For past seasons, the original scoring can be viewed in Archive mode. For the current season, all scoring objects are migrated to Thalamus Holistic Review.

 

Q: Do I lose access to my old scoring?

In Cortex:

  • Competencies and scorecards created through migration are by default excluded from Overall, Interview and Application scores.

  • A new competency is created 'Legacy Cortex'. All previous Cortex categories are migrated to questions and attached to this competency.

  • A new scorecard is created 'Legacy Cortex'. All migrated Cortex questions are enabled in this scorecard.

  • Existing Cortex score values migrate and are assigned to the PD as the reviewer. Cortex legacy scoring was shared, there was no named user.

  • Completed algorithms (all questions answered) are set as Submitted.

In Thalamus Core:

  • Competencies and scorecards created by the migration are by default excluded from Overall, Interview and Application scores.

  • A new competency is created 'Legacy Core'. All previous Core categories are migrated to questions and attached to this competency.

  • Legacy algorithms become scorecards named 'Legacy existing name'.

  • Existing scores migrate with values, reviewer, date/time stamp.

  • Completed algorithms (all questions answered) are submitted after migration.
