Thalamus Video Network Firewall or Proxy Server Settings

As of June 2024, Thalamus Video was updated to provide superior video quality and performance to applicants and programs during residency and fellowship interviews.  The solution combines Thalamus's best-in-class video interview platform and Zoom webRTC technologies.

This update to Thalamus Video provides several benefits to all users, including:

  • Improved audio/video quality, including enhanced noise cancellation and connectivity

  • Optimized screen sharing and presenter layouts, including the ability to see participants while screen sharing and share device audio in addition to video.

  • Increased attendee capacity and scalability for large group sessions

  • Improved performance for virtual background and blur functionality

Please contact your institutional IT departments to ensure use of this feature is not blocked or restricted due to network firewall settings.

For the Thalamus video platform, please allow these additional domains and ports.

  • *.zoom.us
Protocol Ports
TCP 80, 443, 8801, 8802
UDP 3478, 3479, 8801-8810

IP Address Ranges

Please see more details at Zoom network firewall or proxy server settings.

A note about Thalamus Video troubleshooting for IT professionals:

Thalamus Video requires the use of SharedArrayBuffer, which in turn requires cross-origin isolation. If cross-origin isolation is not available for connections between the browser and video.thalamusgme.com, this can sometimes be addressed by clearing or enabling hardware acceleration for the user's browser.
