Beginning with the 2025 recruitment cycle, all programs in Thalamus have been (or will soon be migrated) to the new scoring system: Thalamus Holistic Review. Programs who previously used Thalamus scoring algorithms and categories may access their previous scoring objects in two separate competencies in Score Administration: Legacy Core and Legacy Cortex.
Additional information about the transition may be found here: Thalamus Holistic Review Scoring FAQ
NOTE: This user guide is specifically for programs who would like to use their old scoring algorithms instead of setting up new scorecards.
To transition your legacy scoring algorithm to be used with the new Thalamus Holistic Review scoring, please follow the instructions below. The instructions are the same for both Core and Cortex scoring algorithms that were used previously.
- Navigate to the Score Administration page from your top menu bar.
- Scroll to locate the competency named "Legacy Core" or "Legacy Cortex" depending on which you would like to configure and click the pencil and paper icon to Edit. This will open the competency and the questions (scoring categories) that were previously used in your scoring algorithm.
- You may edit the questions within the Legacy competency as your program prefers (see Creating a Scorecard - Thalamus Holistic Review for more information with types of questions).
- Once you've completed reviewing and editing the questions in your Legacy competency, you may click Save if you've made changes. If you have not made any changes, click the pencil and paper icon again to close the editor.
- After reviewing, click on the "2 Scorecards" step at the top of your Score Administration page to be navigated to the Scorecard page where you can review and edit the "Legacy" scorecards.
- All previously used scoring algorithms become scorecards named "Legacy" followed by the previously used algorithm name. For example, if your algorithm was previously titled "Interviewer Algorithm" the corresponding scorecard will be titled "Legacy Interviewer Algorithm".
- You may edit the questions to be included in the scorecard if necessary (see Creating a Scorecard - Thalamus Holistic Review) and assign where the scorecard should be used, in Core or Cortex, or disabled.
