Allow Thalamus Video to Access your Camera, Microphone and Screenshare on Mac

There are restrictions on Macbooks regarding the access to your device's Camera, Microphone and Screen sharing. These settings need to be updated for you to use your device with Thalamus.

To allow Thalamus Video to access your device's Camera, Microphone, and Screen sharing, go through the following sequence of steps:

  1. Open System Settings from the upper left hand Apple menu.
  2. Double-click on Privacy & Security from the left menu selections
  3. In the Privacy section, select Microphone, Camera, or Screen & System Audio Recording from the list to adjust the appropriate device settings.
  4. Make sure Google Chrome (or your browser if different) is in the list, and that the toggle appears blue. If the toggle is gray, that means you are not allowing your browser to access that device. For example, in the image below Google Chrome has access to the device Microphone, however Slack does not.Screenshot 2024-09-24 at 8.12.28 PM.png
  5. If you toggle access to on you will be prompted to quit and restart your browser to reset the settings. If you don't see this happen, we recommend that you reboot your computer after toggling access on.
  6. Relaunch your browser and try Thalamus Video.
