Withdraw from a program's consideration within Thalamus.

Important: We highly recommend reaching out to any program that you are withdrawing from to confirm your withdrawal, particularly if you are already scheduled for an interview day with that program. You may only withdraw from a program in Thalamus if you have not completed any interview events, including social events, with that program. If you have already completed an interview event and wish to withdraw, please contact the program. |
1. Withdraw before scheduling an interview
If you would like to withdraw from a program before scheduling an interview, follow the steps below to access the Program Profile and complete your withdrawal.
By confirming your withdrawal, you acknowledge that:
- You decline to interview with the program
- You decline to be considered to match at the program
- If you change your mind, reinstatement is at the sole discretion of the program
On the Web
- Navigate to the Calendar page
- Filter the Calendar by the program
- Select any available event
- Select the program name to open the Program Profile
- Select the three-dot menu (⋮)
- Select Withdraw from program
- Type the word "withdraw" in the text box that appears and confirm your choice
On the Mobile App
- Open the program's invitation and select Schedule
- Select any available event
- Select the program name to open the Program Profile
- Select the three-dot menu (⋮)
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu
- Select Withdraw from program
- Type the word "withdraw" in the text box that appears and confirm your choice
| Note: On the Mobile App, you may need to scroll to the bottom of the three-dot menu to locate Withdraw from program. |
2. Withdraw after scheduling an interview
If you would like to withdraw from a program after scheduling an interview, follow the steps below to complete your withdrawal.
By confirming your withdrawal, you acknowledge that:
- You decline to interview with the program
- You decline to be considered to match at the program
- If you change your mind, reinstatement is at the sole discretion of the program
On the Web
- From your Applicant Dashboard, locate the Interviews or Social Events section
- Find the program from which you'd like to withdraw and select the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of that program's row
- From the menu, select Withdraw from program
- A Withdraw from program confirmation window will appear
- Review the program name and the terms of withdrawal
- In the text field, type Withdraw to confirm, then select Withdraw
| Note: Once you have withdrawn from a program, this cannot be undone from your dashboard or calendar. If you have withdrawn from a program by mistake, please reach out to the program directly. |
On the Mobile App
- Select an event from the Interviews or Social Event section, or navigate directly to your Calendar to locate the program from which you'd like to withdraw
- Select an event and choose the program name to view the program
- Select the three-dot menu (⋮) and select Withdraw from program
- A Withdraw from program confirmation window will appear
- Review the program name and the terms of withdrawal
- Type Withdraw in the text field to confirm, then select Withdraw
| Note: If you applied through ERAS, you also have the option to formally withdraw your application through MyERAS. Withdrawing through MyERAS does not automatically update your withdrawal status in Thalamus. |
