This guide reviews how to navigate Cerebellum, including:
- Viewing your current and previous season’s data
- Navigating between sections
- Applying Filters
- Exporting Data
For information on the specific data in each section, review our guides on Cerebellum Data, and Optimizing Cerebellum Data.
Viewing your current and previous season’s data:
Cerebellum allows you to review your data from both the current and past seasons in which you have used Thalamus and/or Cortex. Recruitment seasons that were not conducted in either Thalamus or Cortex will not be available within Cerebellum. As new seasons are created within Thalamus and Cortex, your season list in Cerebellum will update. This update occurs every 24 hours.
-
Upon log in, your season will default to the last season you accessed. Upon first log in, this will default to your current or most recent recruitment season.
-
To navigate between seasons, select the Season drop down menu on the upper right-hand corner of the page, and choose the desired season.
*Note: the season dates are reflective of the time period in which you were recruiting these applicants, not the period of time in which the applicant will be training with your program. For example, if you interviewed an applicant during November of 2021, that applicant would appear in the 2021-2022 recruitment season. -
To return to your previously viewed seasons, select the Season drop down menu again, and choose your desired season.
Navigating between sections:
There are four sections available in Cerebellum which reflect different recruitment data:
- Program Summary Statistics
- DEI Recruitment Outcomes
- DEI Matrix
- Geographic
- Interview Invitation & Completion Insights
For information on the data within each section, review our Cerebellum data guide.
To navigate between sections:
-
You are able to scroll through each section of Cerebellum by using your mouse and the scroll bar on the right hand side of the page.
-
You can jump to a specific section by utilizing the “Jump to Section” navigation bar on the left hand side of your screen.
-
Select the section you are trying to access from the list. This will navigate you to the specific section.
-
To access a different section, select it from the navigation bar, or scroll to that specific section.
Applying Filters:
Each section in Cerebellum has its own filters that can be applied to the data being presented. When applying a filter across two categories, the filter will be an “and” filter (e.g. medical school & self identification), whereas, when applying two or more filters in one category, the filter will be an “or” filter (e.g. filtering for more than one medical school).
To apply a filter within each section:
-
Navigate to the desired section using the steps listed above.
-
Scroll down through the data that is current being displayed for that section. Below each data set is an option to apply filters.
- If your filter options are not displaying, they may be “minimized” for that section. Select the label “Filters” to display the full list of available filters.
-
Locate the category of data you would like to filter. Depending on the section, your category options are:
-
Current Address State
-
Current Address Country
-
Permanent Address State
-
Permanent Address Country
-
Medical School
-
Medical School Type
-
Medical School State
-
Self Identification
-
Sex
-
Applicant Status
-
- Select the Filter you would like to apply, and choose the best option from the drop down menu for that filter. Depending on your application data, there may be limited options for each filter.
- Once you have populated your Filters, Select the button to “Apply Filters” on the upper right hand corner of the filter list.
- The data table and graphs will update reflecting the filtered fields.
- The filtered data table and graphs can be exported by selecting the download arrow or hamburger icon.
- To add more or change filters, follow the steps above and select “Apply Filters” again.
- To remove all filters, select the button to “Reset Filters” in the upper right hand corner of the filter list.
- Filters will apply onto the specific section you are in. For example, if you apply filters to the “Program Summary Statistics”, those filters will not carry over to any other section, and will need to be applied independently for each section.
