Score an Applicant in Thalamus Core

All Thalamus Program Users can enter scores for applicants.  This guide will provide instruction on how to enter scores for applicants from multiples places within Thalamus including the:

  1. Applicant Dashboard
  2. MySchedule page
  3. UPDATED Thalamus Video

Please note: For users enabled with the Thalamus Holistic Review scoring system, please reference: Score an Applicant: Dashboard, My Schedule, Video - Thalamus Holistic Review

The following score types are in Thalamus:

  • Interview Score: Score that will not factor into rank.
  • Overall Score: Score that will automatically calculate applicant rank.
  • Cortex Score: Cortex Score that automatically imports. The Cortex Score does not factor into the overall score nor will it effect the rank score.

Who can view scores?

  • Program Administrators, Program Directors and Program Coordinators can view all program user scores entered for applicants.
**If a program is wanting someone with a program interviewer role to view scores, they will need to update their role to one of the three noted above.**

Entering a Score in the Applicant Score Module

Program Interviewers: Consult with your program to determine which score type, algorithm, and scale you should use when scoring an applicant.

The Applicant Score module is available on the Applicant and MySchedule pages.

  1. The “Applicant Score” module will display applicant information and available scoring algorithms To enter a new score select the "Add Score +" icon
  2. The “Create Applicant Score” module will appear

  2. On the left-hand side of the screen, select the interview event
  3. Users can filter by applicants who are "scored" or "unscored" at the top right of the page.

Scoring in Thalamus Video

Applicant scoring can also be entered through Thalamus Video.

  1. From Thalamus Video Chat select "Score/Notes".
  2. Select the specific scorecard from the dropdown you want to use to score the applicant.  INTERVIEWERS: Consult with your program to determine which scorecard you should use.
  3.  Once you have selected the score card as indicated by your program, you will add the score details.

  4. At the completion of adding all score details, click "Submit".

IMPORTANT: If all questions are not completed (or deemed unable to access) and the "Submit" button is not selected, the score will not save and will show as "In process". While in edit state (in progress), the values on this scorecard are excluded from the aggregate scores (Overall Score, Interview Score, and Cortex Application Score).

  5. If scoring an applicant from a group session, click on the "Score/Notes" button. At the top of the score drawer, the list of applicants scheduled in the session will appear. Click the desired applicant's name in this section of the score drawer.

Note: You can also search for the applicant using the search bar above the applicant's avatars.      For additional questions or support, please contact our team by submitting a ticket here or by clicking the teal "Help" button in the lower right-hand corner of any page of our website.
